Charleville Carbine

The 1777 French Cavalry Carbine was created as a continuation of the practice, first begun in 1763, of manufacturing a carbine version of the standard infantry musket. Not to be confused with the 1777 AN IX Model, which had a different barrel and stock configuration, the 1777 Charleville Carbine was basically a shorter version of the 1777 musket, featuring a smaller version of the hardware components, and incorporating a slingbar.
