1847 Springfield Dragoon Carbine

Introduced in 1847, the Springfield Dragoon Carbine was a short version of the 1842 Springfield musket intended for mounted service. In addition to the saddle bar, the piece also had a captured ramrod designed to prevent loss when riding.

The 1847 Dragoon Carbine saw use with US forces during the Mexican War and again on both sides of Civil War. Our reproduction carbine is .68 caliber and features a hardwood stock, brass hardware, and the distinctive captured ramrod.
